What Inspires Us: A Word from José Quijano
After more than 20 years building brands, leading strategic marketing efforts, and helping businesses stay relevant in rapidly evolving markets, one thing became increasingly clear to me: the businesses that leave the strongest mark on people's lives are local.
They're the restaurants families gather around every Friday night. The coffee shops where neighbors run into each other. The businesses people recommend by name because they've earned the trust of their communities over time.
At the same time, it became impossible to ignore how much harder it was becoming for local businesses to stay visible. As towns across Texas continue to grow and media fragments into endless platforms, feeds, and distractions, familiarity is no longer built automatically. Even great local businesses increasingly struggle to remain top of mind within the very communities they help shape.
In fact, the average lifespan of a small business in highly developed commercial environments is estimated to be around five years. Many of the businesses that give towns their identity and sense of community are constantly fighting to remain visible, competitive, and remembered in increasingly crowded markets.
